Wimbleball Lake - for walking, fishing, sailing, rowing, birdwatching. Ten minutes walk down our lane to the Fishermans Car Park, then follow the brook down to the waters edge. Alternatively a five minute drive to the reception area, coffee shop, toilets and camp site on the far side of the lake.

Haddon Hill - local moor above Wimbleball for walking, horseriding and superb views across to :
The beautiful Brendon Hills - our immediate area, perfect for horseriding, walking trails and a host of different outdoor activities. There is also a considerable industrial heritage in this area from the late 19th century when iron ore was quarried from a chain of mines along the coast and then transported down to Watchet Harbour for transport to the Iron Works of South Wales, just across the Bristol Channel. Makes for some very interesting walks.
Dunkery Beacon - the high point of Exmoor, twenty minutes by car with superb views across to Wales and Dartmoor. Beautiful walking.
Dunster Village and Castle - mediaeval village twenty minutes drive - the jewel of West Somerset and a major attraction all year round.
Dulverton - pretty country village ten minutes drive with restaurants, bars, coffee houses and local shops selling regional produce and crafts.
Bampton and Wiveliscombe (Wivvy to the locals) - again, traditional market towns with good basic eating houses and local shops and services. Two great breweries based in Wivvy - Exmoor Ales and The Cotleigh Brewery, famous beers sold all over the south west.
Torre Cider Farm - just down off the Brendon Hills towards the coast. Local ciders made on the premises from local orchards. A tea room and local produce as well some farm animals for the children.
North Hill and Bossington Hill, near Minehead - truly wonderful views west to Porlock and Porlock Weir and the cliffs of Exmoor. Astounding sunsets if you catch it right!
The West Somerset Railway - traditional steam railway running from Bishops Lyddeard in the east, winding its way through the foothills of Exmoor, then along the coast to Minehead in the west. Open all year and of the very highest standard. Superbly organised and maintained with traditional stations dotted along the route where you can hop on and off at your leisure.
Watchet Marina - for boat and yacht lovers. 1000 years of nautical tradition.
Local hostelries and eating houses include The Raleghs Cross Inn, five minutes drive, The George Inn Brompton Regis 3 miles away, A bit further 15 mins drive the Swan at Bampton, The Rock at Waterrow and the Bridge in Dulverton all produce exellent food and Drink.
Places of interest slightly further afield include Porlock and Porlock Weir, famous for the 1:4 Porlock Hill with good eating houses and local crafts and produce. A slightly longer drive gets you to Lynton and Lynmouth and walks along The Valley of The Rocks.
Finally the Tarr Steps are of national archaeological importance. This stepping stone bridge across the River Barle is another very special place on Exmoor - fifteen minutes drive further beyond Dulverton, up onto the moor.
